My life as a plumber

We have a blocked drain. A sink full of dirty water. We've tried everything to shift it and it just won't go. So we have to spend part of this gloriously sunny day hiring a great long wire to shove down the drain and get things moving. (It's cheaper than a plumber and faster than calling the housing company). I'm going to have a go at unblocking it before He gets back from work - it's my day off today. In the past, I've had quite some success with plumbing. Could be a new career, you know. In Britain, a trained plumber can earn a small fortune. Just thought I'd tell you that to round off what must be the most boring blog of the week. Please feel free to comment on your plumbing problems via the link below! :)

I live in an apartment and they handle all of our maintenance problems. So fortunately I have not had the chance to try out any possible plumbing skills. Good Luck

In the States they sell a product called Drano ("drain-oh"). Viscious stuff, but you pour a bottle of it down your clogged sink or bathtub -- and the clog just melts away. How it knows to eat certain kinds of debris and not the metal, I have no idea. Or maybe metal is robust enough to take a few layers of erosion. Whatever, it's a godsend.

Thanks, both of you for your comments. I'll look out for Drano. For now, the problem's solved..

To Drano-Rachael who commented above. Kinda makes you glad you're not a fish...eh?
Maybe we ought to consider where that poison is going. The easy way is not always the best way...I say.
