Thank you America!

Thank you for having the good sense to go out there and vote for Barack Obama. We stayed up all night and watched it on TV - history in the making. He's a real beacon of hope, just at a time when the world so badly needs that. So, good on you America, you're a great nation after all!

Nearly forgot how to get back in here...

Happy New Year everyone. I've just managed to remember how to log into the back end of Picc in order to post a message. Not that I delude myself that anyone's actually going to read it!

Where have I been? Well, twice to Spain, several times to Blighty, currently caught up in the middle of the Biggest International Bakery Bunfight ever. The fight is over, in fact - we lost 3-0. Still in the field but not for long. So 2008 is going to be job hunting, home hunting, dreamcatcher year...

Last year was all about family and family history, unravelling the family tree and sadly saying goodbye to some of our elderly folks. But getting closer to the living relies in the meantime - that's the upside.

So I have plenty to think about both looking back and looking forwards. Not sure what to do about this blog. I don't like to close it down completely but nor do I like to leave it floating half-heartedly (well, that's generous, more like 1/16th heartedly) in cyberspace. We shall see...

Could have sworn...

I'd written another post since the last one but I don't see it around. Did I post it to the wrong blog, I wonder? Ah well, I'm back from Blighty after an exhilerating and exhausting trip to Bristol and London. Missed most of the lovely weather in London while I poured over ancient copies of dusty newspapers, all the time asking myself if this is an interest and a passion I'm involved in or just an insane obsession. The jury's still out on that. Meanwhile, I'm completely knackered and off to bed....
