Shower thoughts

Up bright and early here, feeling tons better than last week - think it must have been a bug that got me, I've heard that others have been ill too - and happy to see two comments on yesterday's entry. Thanks Jack and Monica! Monica - you should check out her blog, it's fun - asks about the blue sky I mention in Amsterdam. She thought it was always grey here. Well, you're right, M, a lot of the time it is but these last few weeks we've seen quite a lot of blue sky. It's such an event that's it's worth taking a pic of it and putting it in the title of your blog for a while! (Removed it the other day because there was no sign of it.)
The alarm has just gone which means it's quarter past eight - time for Bud to start considering the prospect of exiting from under the duvet... I was thinking in the shower what I should blog about today. Should I tell you about the Aruba Aloe shower gel I've just used, mention that Aruba has lots of aloe plants and that we'll be going over there in just five weeks' time? That the last time we flew there was just after 9/11 and I was petrified because we flew down the entire east coast of the USA? And that I'm considering trying to contact the spirit of the Aruban mosquito to draw up a truce with it before I arrive? Or that I'm wondering whether it's true that downing copious amounts of vitamin B really does help ward them off? Should I ask you for tips on how to steer clear of mozzies? Congo, you should have something to say on that...
Or how about pointing out that it's nearly five years since all the hooha about the millenium, what a mess the world has got into since then - an even bigger mess than before - and turning out a little list of all the wonderful, sad and happy things that have happened to me since then? That has possibilities.
In the meantime, it's now twenty past eight and I have to get moving. No time to check in yet properly on
Rachel, November Child, Raul, Yorkshire Snowman or the intrepid traveller on a Year of Leisure but hope to be there later on! Ciao

Only three options to deal with malaria-carrying mosquitos: When outside after dark, play Russian-roulette with the darned things and live dangerously [lots of people are getting sick here doing just that], Deet, Deet and more Deet, or pop a defensive pill knowing that your liver will suffer. Hmmm, either way doesn't sound too good for the ol'liver.... hope Aruba's too dry for malaria.
