The grey zone

I've just found a seriously disturbing weblog. It's beautifully produced and very well written. It has class. It's written by a 'professional companion' - and, yes, she writes about her clients. Under a pseudonym and with all names and identities disguised.

I've just read her post about Ellis. It's moving.Would make a short story or a chapter in a book.

It disturbs me. Why? Because I want my world to be black-and-white. Prostitution's wrong, whores are abused, unintelligent no-hopers held to a life they don't want by evil bastards who just take their money and run. But this lady ain't like that. She's a sensitive human being. She showed Ellis something about love. You could say she's adding more lasting value to people's lives than I do with my mainstream job. Quite a lot more on some days. This blog is seriously grey zone stuff.

How did I get there? Via another blog. That gives me a slightly uneasy feeling too. I had some funny vibes from that direction already. Do you ever notice that? You instinctively know from someone's blog whether you'd 'click' or not? I find myself reading between the lines, noticing what's not said or picking up something from the way they respond, or don't, to comments. Now I'm wondering about the links.

You can enter the grey zone by typing 'Postmodern Courtesan' into google. Strictly only for the open minded. And don't blame me if it disturbs you.
