It's Sunday morning, what better time to indulge in a little pre-breakfast surfing. Where did I go? Well, I checked in with The Narcissist to see if she's starting posting again yet. She hasn't. Can't blame her, she's doing the right thing, having a break. I'm just a little worried that she'll never come back again. Her blog readership will be left in limbo, wondering if it all turned out all right in the end. We may need therapy for Blog Withdrawal symptoms. There's a gap in the market there, you know.
Anyway, finding my friend - I think of her as a friend - was still out for the duration, I idly clicked on As I See It Now (http://debrasotherthoughts.blogspot.com/), one of the links in her long list, and found myself in a homely, wholesome sort of place, agreeing with Debra on the need for Alone Time. She writes well and I like much of what she says, even though I don't have the same interaction with God that she talks of. I stayed there for a while and then took a link to, well, another godly site - I don't remember which one, they all seemed rather God-Squadish, as I would irreverently put it. The next couple of sites - I just went from one to the other - were both deeply into scripture so I didn't hang around. Can only take so much of that, even on a Sunday morning. I think Jesus is infinitely wise, by the way, so no need to convert me... I exited via a green button to the Rainforest site. Now that's really something:
http://www.therainforestsite.com
If I could find a way to fix a Rainforest button on my blog, I would. You can click on the button and help save a bit of rainforest every day. And if you follow the link to the 'Take Action Center' on the Rainforest site, you can watch a little Greenpeace video, or whatever it is, showing a research boat going round Greenland to check on the melting ice. The boat's since gone down the east coast of the US to show its findings.
This is the sort of site for me. Saving the planet with one click on a Sunday morning!
