I'm wading through references here, just taking a two-minute break (promise) to post an update. It feels like I'm cheating slightly. I've just said I can't possibly go out tonight; this work of art is at a crucial stage. If we can just stay in and I can press ahead, there could be real progress made tonight. Instead, here I am, posting again.
It's the new delaying tactic. I'm getting quite good at it.
My thought are anywhere but with this paper. In fact, I'm hovering somewhere over Islamabad, wondering how life can be so harsh. And wondering whether there'll be a corporate message going out from the head of the international bakery on Monday, offering condolences to our Indian and Pakistani colleagues - or whether there'll just be radio silence as there usually is when it's the 'Third World' that's hit.
Sometimes, it's not A Good Thing to have all this international news at your fingertips.
A prayer for Central America. A prayer for India/Pakistan. A prayer for you, wherever you are.
And back to my humble little paper.....
