Yesterday morning, in what I thought at the time was a brilliant move, I photographed a particularly difficult diagram that I need for my paper, uploaded it on to Bud's computer and mailed it to my Mac. Later, on my PC at work, I manoeuvred it into Photoshop and tried unsuccessfully to delete the grey shadows round the edges.
Yesterday evening, in a Skype call from Poland, my friend there - who I met when she cleaned my flat in Vienna - mentioned that she'd bought a scanner as she needed it for the course she's doing at one of Poland's oldest universities.
A light went on. A scanner. Of course, I thought, jj how could you be so DENSE?
This evening, under protest, Bud has scanned the diagram for me into a Word doc and I've mailed it to my Mac. The circular diagram is now sitting in its rightful place in my (still unfinished) paper.
The wonders of technology, explained via Voip from Poland - in German, by the way.
