Well, would you believe it...

My little London B&B has an internet connection. I discovered it this morning thanks to two ladies from Vancouver who were busy mailing home. They're here for just five days and will be taking a trip over to the Cotswolds as well as whizzing round London in that time. I love it here - just for a few days. Pimlico village is buzzing with life and there are lots of little restaurants dotted about with very good food at very reasonable prices. I even discovered an English restaurant last night - now that's a rare thing - and tonight a group of us have eaten at a Vietnamese/Thai restaurant that was really superb. Bud would love it as he's a real city boy, much more than I am. Which makes me think how different it is to be alone in a city, knowing that you have a loving partner somewhere else. It's a delicious sort of aloneness, quite something else than being on your own in a place and knowing that there's no Other who's going to be interested to hear what you thought of it...

I've got my digital camera with me this time so I've taken a few shots to show him.
The course went well. I got the lowest mark I've ever had for an academic assignment, ever, but did pass. Apparently some didn't so this is an achievement. Not that they'll ever make an academic out of me. I would have liked to have done better after all that work but am telling myself not to make an issue of it. It really doesn't matter. It's the new directions that come out of this course which are far more important.

Moreover, I've discovered that the B&B right next door to this one charges 25 pounds sterling - that's a lot - less than this one and, according to the fellow student who's staying there, is very nice. So I think I might just be moving in next door for Module 3 (in November). Pity, as the people here are so nice and the breakfast room is lovely, with pale blue wave-like ceiling - they brought in an artist to do it. I suppose I'm helping to pay for the artist, come to think of it.

That's it for now. I have red eyes - not sure from what (maybe the London air which is truly foul). Love you and leave you. Hope all's going well for you wherever you are...
