I don't have a room of my own but my little study corner is in our bedroom - and that doesn't have much of a view either. If I look over my left shoulder, I can see sky, the top floors of the flats across the street, flat roofs (a surprising number of flat roofs for such a wet country) satellite dishes pointing south to Morocco and some birds wheeling by. The best view is the view of the light wooden desk top my arms are resting on.
Cheered myself up last night by listening to Mozart - supposed to be good for you and worked for me - and, more especially, reading the first chapters of 'Room with a View'. This morning, it was the same book, plus Ray Charles that put me in a halfways decent mood.
