Waiting for the fire and brimestone...

I was expecting something else from Al G--- this afternoon. Somehow, I thought he'd turn up with his climate change slides and put the fear of g... into us all, as he's done so many times before in other venues. But today, apart from one crescendo at the end where he stoked up the fire, he gave out little more than a faint wisp of smoke. Instead of a fiery speech on climate change - which, give him his due credit, he's successfully brought to the attention of many of the world's influential businsessmen - he gave us just a decent, sometimes humorous, pretty run of the mill performance, I thought.

I haven't found anyone who shares that view...

The press loved it and so did my colleagues but I - no kidding - found myself falling asleep during it. (To be fair, I seem to be pretty tired out right now; maybe I hadn't realised it).

I'm just left with a feeling of anti-climax and a wish that I could see him when he's doing one of his REAL talks.

And, boy, does that man have an ego... Perhaps just as well if it means he carries on pushing the issue of climate change.
