Following on from my last post, below, it looks like I'm going to be cycling for the rest of my life... Has the world gone completely mad, I ask myself? Are ALL our leaders off their head, insane, or just so utterly immature that you wonder if they even went through primary school.
America delivers bombs to Israel to drop on south Lebanon, calling in at the airport in Glasgow, UK, to refuel. And then we're going to broker a reasonable peace settlement by sending Condi to the Middle East to talk to both sides. Come on, people, who are we kidding?
The awful shooting at a Jewish centre in Seattle yesterday is, I fear, just a sign of what's to come. The Seattle shooting was appalling, the act of one insane man, you could think.
But what do we really expect Muslims to do when the whole damn world lines up against them? There are 700,000 people on the run in Lebanon, running from bombs that the US (helped by the UK) is supplying to Israel. You can bet that 95% of them have nothing to do with Hezbollah whatsoever. But who cares?
How can the world stand by and let this happen and do nothing to stop it? Not only that, we're actually supplying the bombs to make it possible.
Will someone tell me why this is one iota better than letting the Holocaust happen. It feels uncomfortably like the same thing to me.

There is no comparison to the Holocaust or any sort of genocide whatsoever.
To do so suggests a complete misunderstanding of the situation.
Does Hizbollah not have any accountability for the bloodshed.
You're right. The comparison with the Holocaust is not a good one, particularly as it's such a sensitive issue.
However, the whole Lebanon saga stinks. My point is, how can one country be allowed to go in and flatten another - just wipe out years of hard won progress - and the whole world just stands by clapping and says, in effect, 'well done'?
Yes, Hezbollah has accountability. But that doesn't get the bombers off the hook, sorry.
P.S. And I do have a pretty good idea who you are Mr. Anonymous!! Touched to find you still visit these parts...
